Her first novel, Dating Dead Men, was released in 2004 and won the Agatha Award for best first novel. It proceeded to garner two more awards, the Anthony and the Macavity awards. Harley has since written three more novels, Dating Is Murder, Dead Ex, and her latest, A Date You Can’t Refuse. In total, Ms. Kozak’s work has won her eight awards and three more nominations to date.
Harley’s short prose has appeared in Ms. Magazine, Soap Opera Digest, The Sun, The Santa Monica Review, and the anthologies Mystery Muses, This is Chick Lit and A HELL OF A WOMAN. She also blogs on “The Lipstick Chronicles” along with five other authors. While writing occupies the majority of her non-family time, she does still take the occasional acting role. She recently played an FBI agent in a short, filmed in Nebraska. It was a natural fit, since the FBI figured in her last three books.
