South Coast Writing Projects
Founded in 1979 as a site of the National Writing Project (NWP) and California Writing Project (CWP), the South Coast Writing Project (SCWriP) is a professional development program in the teaching of writing and critical literacy at every level of education and across all disciplines. This year marks the 9th year that a Young Writers' Camp will be held at Oxnard College, which is geared for students who are going to be in grades 4-9 in the fall.

Write On! For Literacy
Write On! For Literacy encourages kids to discover confidence, joy, a means of self-expression and connection with others through reading and writing. The founder, Dallas Woodburn, visits elementary and middle schools as well as hosts a SummerWriting Camp. Dallas was our June 2011 speaker, and recorded her talk. You can watch it on YouTube:
