This site is well known, and claims to be the highest circulation
freelance writer ezine in the world. It provides e-books, print
books, e-mail courses, and advertisements of value to the writer.

This site is relatively new. It has been established by an organization
in England that offers to print your book for very reasonable
rates. For American authors they will use a printer in the United
States. But read it yourself to find the details.

This site is also based in England. It provides an array of useful
information and contacts for writers, plus an excellent and well-explained
list of literary contests, grouped by the month of the deadline
for submissions.

Proof Positive focuses on making a living as a freelancer. The
site also has a large section devoted to contests. You'll find
contests for writers, poets, photographers, song writers, recipe
writers, and loads of other miscellaneous competitions.
